Client: Alex Role: Commercial Analyst Industry: Finance Native Language: Polish Initial English Proficiency level: B1 (intermediate) The challenge: *struggle to process information quickly enough *formulate responses on the spot *interject effectively, disagree respectfully *understand the subtle power dynamics at play *understand or convey meanings that are culturally and contextually accurate / appropriate Impact on career / goals: *Being misunderstood *Feeling invisible and undervalued *Self-imposed pressure that leads to anxiety when speaking in front of a group *Tendency to shy away from speaking up and therefore miss out on opportunities The solution: Alex joined the “Learn” Course of the L.E.A.D. program Feb 2025. In our 1:1 (language skill and professional speaking) coaching sessions, we focused on *Practical techniques for speaking up in meetings & discussions *Active listening skills The ability to think on your feet *Functional languages for sharing opinions and disagreeing effectively *Common workplace idiomatic language and *Cultural dynamics and communication styles Duration: 2 sessions a week for 3 months The Transformation & Results: *Improved CEFR level (B1 to B2) Visibly improved fluency and confidence *Meeting participation (from 10% to 50%) *Improved productivity (working overtime on average 4 times a week reduced to once a week) *Opportunities to work in a cross functional high-stake project *Positive feedback from stakeholders and line manager Start to enjoy having small talks and building network Client Testimonial: "My English confidence has increased thanks to this program.
